Robert sat in the common room doing some piece of music homework. He wrote a bit about his favorite band for some assignment or other. He thought that the teacher might appreciate it. For being an artist, the blonde was far more interested in music and music culture.

Alex was wondering around with a ton of books in his hand trying to get various coursework finished. The common room was full with others doing the same, then he noticed a blond man sat on his own and wondered up to him, "Hi, is this seat taken?"

Robert looked up from his ramblings about bands and saw a medium sized, well built man in front of him. He shook his head and gestured to the seat.
"No, you can sit there. I'm just writing something," he said with a kind of crooked half smile.

"Thanks". Alex went to tip the stack of books on to the desk, a few fell to the floor, "damn" alex muttered before bending down to pick them up.

Robert looked up from his paper in time to see the other man bend over. His eyes widened and he looked away. Maybe this guy just liked to stick his arse in the air, he thought to himself as he looked back down at his almost completed assignment.
"Should be more careful which way you tip those things," Robert said cheekily.

Alex, straightened back up, "what was that?" Alex asked curiously.

Robert cleared his throat and smiled innocently.
"I said be careful where you put those, wouldn't want them to fall back on you and such."

"Are you offering a hand?" Alex asked with a little smile playing on his lips.

"Well I hadn't been but it does look like you could use one," Robert said as he stood up and moved to help the other man ", What year are you in? I haven't seen you around here or in the sity but that may just be because I'm a freshman."

"Third Year" Alex replied while moving to gather the books that had fallen further away. "I've mainly stayed on campus thus you've never seen me in the city and I tend to up to my neck with codes in a computer room somewhere, in a place where the dinosaurs still roam and people are weird creatures."
Alex started to pile the books he had picked up on the table, freeing both hands.

"You sound a very social creature. Much like myself, it seems. I've been here at this academy for 5 months and I can say that you are the only student I've really met. In fact I've only got one good friend and he isn't even a student here," Robert said as he watched the other man put his books into piles.
"What's your name," he asked finally.

"Alex", Alex replied reaching up to shake the other man's hand. "No-one here tempting enough to be your friend?" Alex asked with a smile. Before collecting the last of his books.

"Possibly. Maybe I just prefer meeting people in bars as opposed to the relative safety of a college campus," Robert replied with a laugh ", that and I don't think they take too kindy to the people that just like to sit back and listen to conversations instead of joining them."
Robert watched Alex pick up the rest of his books ", name's Robert, by the way."

"Ah, the drunken conversationalist, we all have a tendency for that. What is it that you study here?" Alex asked looking at the assignment on the table.

"I'm an art major. My friend, Nick, once asked me why I was an art major with a very dull and boring apartment," Robert laughed ", he seems to bring out a bit more of the artist in me than other things."
The blonde looked up and smiled at Alex ", what is your major? You said you were on computers alot, so I asume it has something to do wth computers."

"I major in Computing and Business. Very dull", Alex rolled his eyes "So why's an art major got a dull apartment? I'm sure you can paint it."

Robert laughed ", I'm more a music fan. But I am dirt poor right now so I don't have any posters or the like. And I'm not to into painting...more a sketch or photography kind of guy," he pulled out a folder and handed it to Alex. "Those first ones are of my friend Nick a few weeks back. He wasn't too keen on my taking pictures of him that day," the blonde laughed again.

Alex took the folder and was looking through it, he blew out a silent whistle "these are really good" Alex commented without looking up, "he looks familiar, I know him from somewhere." Alex flipped the folder shut and handed it back to Robert.

"Thanks," Robert said as he took the folder back. He heard Alex say he knew Nick from somewhere.
"I wouldn't know, you'd have to talk to him. He tends to not talk about people he's known in the past."
Robert absentmindedly scratched the covered scars on his wrists.

Alex noticed the scars on his wrist "been in the wars lately?" Alex asked, then taking a seat "I don't suppose you could give me Nick's address? just want to see if he's the man I know".

Robert snapped his eyes up to Alex.
"I'd rather not discuss these scars.....sore spot really. And I don't think he'd like it if I gave out his address to just anyone..he's...well he won't like it and I on't really want him to be mad at me at the moment."
Robert was hesitant to give anyone another person's address without asking the ohter person first.

"Sorry. Don't suppose the address of a regular haunt is out of the question?" Alex asked "I'm sorry, I shouldn't of asked for his address. What kind of fool would give it out to a stranger. I don't suppose I can buy you a drink when were finished? Just to say sorry."
His eyes roving round the other mans face.

"All I can tell you is that he and I usually hang out together. And I am totally up for a few drinks! Just let me finish this little paper here and I'm ready," Robert said with a crooked smile on his pouty lips.

"Alright, tell me when your ready", Alex replied before turning back to his own books.

Robert spent the next five or so minutes finishing his work and then packing his stuff. He looked up at the smaller man next to him and smiled.
"I'm ready for a drink, how about you, Alex," he asked in a friendly manner.
