Jace sat in a chair in the lounge, hanging off of it at odd angles. His icy blue eyes scanned the upside down view of the room around him and he sighed, seeing no one of terrible interest. That is until he saw a flash of blonde as a tall man walked through the door and promptly tripped on the carpet, tossing his books about and landing face first on the floor. Everyone started to laugh except Jace, who just smiled at the scene and rolled out of the chair to help the other man up.
Walking over and stopping inches from the whimpering mass of blonde on the floor Jace very gently put his foot on the spread hand in front of him.
"Well it's lovely to see that, no matter what happens in life and where you are, that you are still a terribly clumsy person, Robert."

Robert felt the foot and heard the voice. He lifted his head just enough to stare at a pair of icy blue eyes he knew well. He didn't believe it at first, continuing to stare, and then it hit him.
"Jace? Wha..." he pulled his hand out from under the other man's foot and stood up, rubbing his head and straightening his clothes ",...what are you doing here?...you....it's been so long," he cried out, throwing himself at Jace.
Jace Maddock had been the one person, other than his sister and his mum, that had stood by him during his childhood. When Robert had ended up in the hospital, Jace would come and see him as often as the doctors would let him in. Jace was the only other person outside the family that Robert trusted, other than Nick. He held Jace in a tight hug.

Jace smiled and wrapped his arms around Robert and laughed. It was true that they hadn't seen each other in a long time. The last time was just before Jace left for college. He pulled out of Robert's arms and ruffled his friends blonde hair.
"I've been here, Robby! I'm in my third year! And I see you made it here as well. So tell me, my dear old friend, have you landed yourself that boyfriend I always thought you'd end up with," Jace teased.

Robert's jaw dropped. He hadn't even known he was gay til late last year, when he met Nick. How could Jace have known when they hadn't seen each other for 3 years?
"What? What the hell do you mean 'you always knew'? I didn't even know until last year! And we've only just met after so many years, I'm not sure I should tell you about my relationships," Robert said with a mock frown. They always did this.

Jace laughed at being proven right. He clapped Robert on the back and pulled him to him, shoulder to shoulder.
"You see, my friend, you were never very interested in girls after you hit puberty. And I cought you staring at me a few times in a way most guys stare at girls. I saw longing in your eyes that you didn't even realize was there. And you didn't answer my question! You got yourself shag buddy yet or are you still sulking in corners?"
Jace walked over to the chair he had been in and flopped down bonelessly again, looking up at Robert as he walked over to the chair opposite his own.

Robert shook his head with a laugh and sat in the chair near Jace's.
"I am involved with someone, now you mention it. His name's Nick. I think you might get along with him. He likes to goof off just as much as you do," Robert told his friend. "And if he were a woman you'd be all over him, I'm sure of it. I remember you used to love auburn hair and green eyes. Chase anything that had those two attributes and a set of breasts you would."
They had already fallen back into the joking manner that Robert had only ever really shared with Jace during his childhood.
"And to tell you off, I am being more social than I used to be, if that makes you happy."

"I only worry for your health, my friend! You need to be social to keep from thinking too much cause I know what you end up thinking about. Now enough about you and your thoughts an lets discuss this boytoy of yours," the dark haired man grinned ", when do I get to meet him? Has he met your mum and dad? If so how did they take the fact that you're gay, even though I think it was obvious from the time you were thirteen."
Jace rambled on like this for another few moments and then smiled sweetly at Robert.

Robert rolled his eyes and kicked Jace in the thigh, as it was the closest thing he could reach.
"First of all, he is not my boytoy. Second, you can meet him when you want, because you're both my friends. He has met my mum and she is actually happy I found someone and she likes him, but he and dad haven't met yet. I'm not sure how he'll handle it...either of them actually."
He trailed off and thought a moment.

"Don't kick me, wanker! And I want to meet this guy, he sounds like I could get along with him, as you said," Jace commented to Robert ", you know what? We should get the hell out of here and go someplace to catch up on the three years we've been away from one another. And besides, that hug you gave me has all the lounge looking at us like we're going to start snogging any moment now."
With that comment Jace stood up and cracked his back and stretched his arms. He noticed a few girls on the other side of the room looking at him and the way his shirt pulled up when he raised his arms and he smiled. Winking he blew a kiss at them and motioned for Robert to get up.

"Is it so bad that they think we could start snogging? I'm due for a good long make out session. And yes I do think we should catch up with one another," Robert teased him and then looked around at the girls looking at them. He smiled.
"Sorry ladies, I'm taken and he's a shameless whore, so unless you feel like having your heart broken for a one night stnd I suggest you look another way for guys."
The blonde stood up and walked towards the door where Jace was standing and grinned at his friend.

Jace let his jaw drop and he looked back at the girls, who had made disgusted noises and turned away from them.
"You are a bloody cruel man, to tell them that. And you had better not suggest a snog session with me. I'll tell your boyfriend when I meet him! Now get the hell out that door before I kick your arse from here to oblivion," the dark haired man ordered and shoved Robert's shoulder. As Robert left the doorway, Jace turned around and scowled at the girls.
"You wouldn't have gotten into either of our pants anyway. He's gay and none of you are my type," with that he stomped out the door.
